How do I upload a shapefile?
To upload a shapefile for the boundaries of your conservation project, you must have edit access to the project you wish to upload a shapefile for (if you do not, see the "I logged in, but I still can't edit a project. Why is that?" FAQ).
Go to ConPro Spatial (http://ecad.tnc.org/ConProSpatial) by clicking the map on the ConPro home page or the "Maps" tab at top and choosing the first link, and log in. If you have edit access to a project, you should now see a "Spatial Data Upload" link on the left side of the screen (under "Tasks"). When you click this link, it will prompt you to choose a project to upload spatial data for, and a zipped shapefile to upload (it provides help if you're not sure about how to zip a shapefile). If existing spatial data exists for the project, it will be displayed and give you a chance to cancel your upload or proceed.
Any information in the attribute table of your shapefile will not be available, but the map will show the project name, contact person, and ConPro URL which are pulled dynamically from the ConPro record. Please note that if your ConPro project is not marked as public ("shareable outside TNC"), the project boundaries will not be visible to anyone who is not logged into ConPro Spatial.
If you wish to upload a shapefile other than simply the conservation project boundaries (e.g. a shapefile showing threats, or targets, or activities), you can find instructions to do so here: How do I upload a document (e.g. a word document, map, etc.) or provide a link to another website for my project?. However, these shapefiles will simply be available for download, and will not show up on the ConPro Spatial map viewer.
ConPro Spatial is changing! For now, you may view the already existing ConPro spatial application or other spatial information
in a new browser window by clicking on one of the links below. Note that TNC users must log in to see the complete data.
